Catalogue models are a starting point, not the product. Almost every equipment maker who buys thermostats from us buys a configuration: a setpoint range matched to their appliance, a capillary cut to their routing, a bulb sized to their well, a knob printed with their scale and their brand. This guide explains what can be customised, how private labelling works, and how a project runs from first message to production — so you know exactly what to send us and what happens next.
What can be customised
- Setpoint range and trip points — control ranges and fixed limiter trip points are factory-calibrated to your specification, not just picked from a list
- Capillary length — cut and coiled for the real route between bulb and panel in your appliance
- Bulb size — diameter and length matched to your thermowell
- Electrical configuration — ratings from 16A controls to 50A three-pole models, SPST / SPDT contacts, automatic or manual reset, and millivolt versions for gas equipment
- Knob format — shape (round, square or custom profile) and a scale printed to match your thermostat’s temperature range
- Shaft, terminals and mounting — confirmed against your panel and harness design before samples are made
Private labelling
Your brand belongs on the appliance, not ours. Knob scales are printed with your logo and your temperature scale as a standard OEM service, and labelling and packaging follow your brand specification for production runs. Tell us at the start of the project which elements carry your brand — knob, dial, rating label, box — and we build them into the quotation rather than adding them as an afterthought.
How a project runs
- 1. Specification or sample. Send the specification if you have one; if you are replacing or second-sourcing an existing thermostat, send the original part number or a clear photo of the rating label, and we match mounting, ratings and capillary length
- 2. Proposal. We confirm the configuration — ratings, range, capillary, bulb, shaft, terminals and mounting — and quote against it
- 3. Samples. Configured samples are made for your bench testing and approval before any production commitment
- 4. Production. Approved configuration goes to production with your labelling, export packing and shipment planning handled on our side
Minimums, honestly
Minimum order quantities are flexible and set per configuration — a standard model with a custom capillary length is a different proposition from a fully bespoke calibration with printed knobs. Custom and private-label runs start at low volumes by the standards of this industry. Send us the configuration you need and your expected quantities, and we will quote the exact minimum for that configuration rather than a generic number.
Certifications and the factory
HengTherm is the export brand of Guangzhou V.Crown Thermostat Co., Ltd., manufacturing thermostats in Guangzhou since 1995. Production runs under a TÜV-certified quality system — certificate R50309054 (EN 60730-1 / EN IEC 60730-2-9), verifiable on Certipedia. The full range, with ratings and dimensions, is in our product catalogue (PDF).
FAQ
What do you need from me to quote a custom thermostat?
The appliance type, the operating temperature or trip point you need, the electrical rating, and the distance from the sensing point to the control position. If you are matching an existing part, the original part number or a photo of its rating label is enough to start.
Can you match a thermostat we currently buy elsewhere?
Yes — cross-reference matching is routine. Send the part number or rating-label photo and we match mounting, ratings, setpoint and capillary length, then make samples for your bench approval before production.
Can the knobs and packaging carry our brand?
Yes. Knob scales are printed to match your range with support for your brand logo, and labelling and packaging are produced to your brand specification on production runs.
