Tecasa — Técnicas de Calentamiento S.A. of Berango, Spain — has manufactured electric capillary thermostats since 1981, supplying oven and catering-equipment makers across Europe and the spare-parts trade. Its NT single-pole controls sit in countless commercial ovens, its VC family covers two- and three-pole control and safety duties, and its SP limiters guard everything from ovens to coffee machines. This page maps the Tecasa numbers our customers send us most often to their verified V.Crown equivalents, and sets out the checks that make a cross-reference safe.
How to read the original part number
Tecasa codes read as series plus variant: NT is the single-pole adjustable control family, and the digits after the dash identify the variant — the range, bulb and capillary are properties of the variant, so read them from the rating label rather than assuming them from the series. VC is the two- and three-pole family, built as adjustable controls or as VC-S safety limiters; SP is the single-pole safety limiter family, fixed-trip with manual reset. Tecasa also builds thermostats for equipment makers, and those parts often carry the equipment maker’s OEM number instead — the Tecnoeka numbers below are Tecasa-made parts identified that way in the Tecnoeka parts catalogues.
NT — single-pole control thermostats
These are adjustable liquid-filled capillary controls, 16A class, for ovens, fryers and grills. Every verified variant below sits inside the AG16-K envelope, so the mapping is by function and range, with the capillary and bulb made to the original’s dimensions.

The AG16-K capillary thermostat is built to the same envelope — 50–400°C, 16A/20A at 110V/250V, SPST/SPDT contacts, automatic reset, 100,000-cycle mechanical life — with the capillary and bulb made to the original’s dimensions and the shaft to match the existing knob.
VC — two- and three-pole control thermostats
The VC family is Tecasa’s heavy-duty line: two- and three-pole adjustable capillary controls rated 32A/250V in the manufacturer’s catalogue (50,000 cycles at 32A), capillaries from 350 to 2000mm, and TÜV approval to EN 60730-1 and EN 60730-2-9. They switch two or three circuits at once on larger single-phase and three-phase equipment.

The AG32 high-current thermostat family covers both: the AG32-2K and the three-pole AG32-3K (16A/32A/50A, 50–350°C) come from the TÜV-certified AG32-K series (R 50242995), with the range, capillary and bulb configured to the original part.
SP and VC-S — safety limiters (manual reset)
These are fixed-trip safety devices: they do nothing until the control fails, then cut the circuit and stay open until a technician resets them by hand. The SP family covers single-pole duties; VC-S is the two- and three-pole safety line, rated 25A/480V–32A/250V in the Tecasa catalogue. On the V.Crown side the trip point is factory-set to the original’s value, so the number you send us is the trip point we build.

The AG16-S manual-reset safety limiter covers the single-pole types — 16A/20A at 110V/250V, manual reset, standard trip points 380/400/430°C with other trip points factory-set to order. The two- and three-pole VC-S types map to the AG32-2S and AG32-3S in the AG32 family (manual reset, trip points up to 400°C, TÜV R 50242493 for the AG32-S series). Never substitute a manual-reset limiter for an automatic-reset one to make a cross-reference fit.
Outside the scope of these tables
Tecasa’s range is wider than these tables. Its low-temperature NT variants — the NT-122 family at 7–85°C and 30–90°C, fitted to dishwashers and water heaters — sit below the AG16-K’s 50°C floor and are not listed here, and neither are its NT1 water-heater thermostats (for example the Gorenje 580443 part at 5–75°C). Rod thermostats for immersion heaters are not capillary devices, and Tecasa’s electronic controls have no mechanical equivalent. Some dealer listings also circulate codes we could not verify against the manufacturer’s catalogue or an authorised dealer listing (for example NT-382 or VC-DS codes on reseller sites); we do not map numbers we cannot verify. Send us the number and we confirm the match in writing; a part outside these tables is not a failed match, it is an unconfirmed one.

The five checks before you order
- Function and reset type — a control is adjustable and cycles; a limiter is fixed-trip and, in the SP and VC-S families, manual reset. Manual and automatic reset are different safety behaviours, not options.
- Range or trip point — the original’s range must sit inside the equivalent’s range (AG16-K 50–400°C; AG32-3K 50–350°C). NT variants below 50°C do not map. For limiters the trip point is factory-set to the original’s value — a near-enough temperature is not a match.
- Poles and current — count the circuits the original switches: NT and SP are single-pole, VC and VC-S are two- or three-pole, and the VC ratings run to 32A. A single-pole replacement cannot switch a three-pole load.
- Capillary length and probe — Tecasa capillaries run from 350mm on VC parts to 2050mm on the NT-234 — read the length and probe size from the rating label. Too short will not reach the well; the probe must seat correctly in the existing thermowell.
- Mounting and head temperature — the NT body mounts on two M4 holes at 28mm centres and the VC head is rated to 125°C. The replacement must fit the same bracket and panel cut-out, take the same knob, and its head must sit within its temperature rating in the mounting position.
Send us the part number you are replacing — or a photo of its rating label — and we run all five checks in writing before quoting, so the equivalent arrives as a fit, not a project.
Certification: ask for numbers, then verify them
The AG32-K control series is TÜV certified under R 50242995 and the AG32-S limiter series under R 50242493, both verifiable on TÜV Certipedia and listed on our certifications page; the AG16-S is TÜV certified. The AG16-K’s approvals are confirmed for the exact model before ordering. When an alternative supplier quotes a safety device, ask for the file number — not a logo — and check it before the part goes into certified equipment.
